Know Your Status

This project aims to strengthen HIV testing surveillance and increase HIV testing in North Minneapolis. This will be achieved through implementing and expanding the reach and impact of HIV Self-Test (HIVST) initiative to be accessible and available among LQBTQ members and the youth of color at risk of HIV/AIDS infections in the poorest region in North Minneapolis by distributing self-testing kits, increasing awareness and target population education on how to use the self-testing kits. Encouraging Leaders (EL) will collaborate with the Multi-Cultural Community Alliance Coalition of Color to plan, implement, evaluate, education and self-testing coordination activities throughout the project period. It is worth noting that the black community has some of the highest rates of HIV/AIDS-affected individuals of any demographic/sub-demographic of people in the United States.
